“Say Something” by A Great Big World

“Say something, I’m giving up on you

I’ll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere, I would’ve followed you

Say something, I’m giving up on you

And I am feeling so small
It was over my head
I know nothing at all

And I will stumble and fall
I’m still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

Say something, I’m giving up on you

I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you

Anywhere, I would’ve followed you

Say something, I’m giving up on you

And I will swallow my pride
You’re the one that I love
And I’m saying goodbye

Say something, I’m giving up on you

And I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you

And anywhere, I would have followed you
Ooh, ooh say something, I’m giving up on you

Say something, I’m giving up on you

Say something”

September Blogging Challenge: Day 10

A Day in Your Life

I’m going to choose one of the best days in my life so far… the day my daughter was born!

January 5th, 2019

My daughter was measuring almost 10 pounds, and with my petite statute of 5’4, my OB warmed me that a vaginal delivery could be dangerous as my daughter would probably get stuck on my hips. So my fiancée and I decided to have an elective cesarean birth.

We got up at 4am, went to the hospital, and anxiously awaited for the time to come.

1:56pm. I was in labor from about 6am until she was born and it was a long, exhausting day full of emotion, anxiety, and fear. I was induced on a Saturday and they don’t normally do elective procedures on the weekend due to the shortage of anesthesiologists that work on Saturdays, but we were able to get one come down for Della’s delivery.

She came and our lives have been changed for the better ever since.

Our beautiful Della Rae.

Oh, how she’s changed.

Oh, the obstacles we’ve conquered since she’s been in our lives.

Oh, how her beauty and spunk has shaken our world up.

I love her to pieces and I can’t imagine a life without her.

September Blogging Challenge: Day 9

Okay, I’m a week late on this… SO WHAT!

I need to be more present on here, and these 30 day challenges are a fun, easy way to make sure I’m posting! So here is what we are working with for the rest of the month of September:

Today’s OOTD (Outfit Of The Day)

The temperatures here lately are beginning to feel more like fall. I’ve had the air off and the windows open the last few days. Today I decided to bring out a sweater and my comfy house slippers. And you bet if I’m lounging around the house I’m wearing leggings!

I’ve had my fall decor up for weeks now! It’s the start of the best time of the year and I am SO ready to sit by a fire in a hoodie and wear boots and sweaters to work everyday!

June Blogging Challenge: Day 7

Afternoon, readers and writers of WordPress!

Today is already DAY 7 of the June Blogging Challenge!! Today’s prompt is one that is often asked:

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Okay, I don’t think I have ever swayed on what superpower I would choose if we were ever offered the opportunity to get one.

I want to FLY! I honestly don’t need the ability to walk through walls or be super strong, but I would LOVE to soar through the air feeling the wind in my hair! I would fly with the birds and flow with the treetops. I would look down on big cities, cornfields, ball fields,  and racetracks. I don’t think I would ever come down.

What superpower would you choose??

June Blogging Challenge: Day 6

Hi, friends! Today’s prompt for my June Blogging Challenge is:

THREE WAYS TO WIN YOUR HEART

Oh boy. I am supposed to narrow down things that make me fall in love down to THREE?! I guess this is easier for me if I think about the things I love best about my current relationship. The things that Dylan possesses or does that makes my heart swoon. These are in no particular order.

Dylan being goofy 🤪

I would have to say HUMOR is one way to capture my heart. There is just something about people that have a good sense of humor. I love someone that doesn’t take everything so seriously and can dish back sarcasm after I hand it out (I’m a very sarcastic person). Dylan is one of the funniest people I have ever met. He knows how to make certain facial expressions that turn an ordinary conversation into a joke. He always knows how to make me laugh.

This morning I wrote a blog about the five love languages. One of my top love languages was Acts of Service. This means that I feel the most loved when someone lends a helping hand to me. I think this is so accurate in describing me because a way to win my heart would be helping me clean the house. Haha!! I am such a clean freak and I hate when the house gets messy! However, there just never seems to be enough hours in the day to keep the house as clean as I would like it to be. So I guess what I’m saying is…. If you want to win my heart, DO THE DISHES!!!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Penne I made the other night! 😋

And lastly, another way to win my heart is….. FOOD! Feed me some dinner and I will be yours for life! Some of my favorites right now are the Hollywood Roll (sushi), nachos, grilled chicken on ANYTHING (wraps, pasta, sandwiches), wings, pizza… Now I’m hungry!

The Hollywood Roll: Crab meat, cream cheese, avocado, and cucumber 🍣

So there ya have it. The three ways to win my heart are being funny, helping me with chores, and feeding me!!

June Blogging Challenge: Day 5

Day FIVE of my June Blogging Challenge! Today’s prompt is very simple.

Home.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure what to think of today’s prompt. Home. What about home? Is it asking where I live? Does it want pictures of my house? I decided I’d go with something a little less boring……. Maybe.

I live in midwestern Illinois in a small town called Mount Sterling. There are two stoplights and three gas stations. That is where I call HOME. But that isn’t very fun to talk about. Instead, I’d rather talk about where else FEELS like home.

We all have places where we feel the most comfortable. Places where all worries cease to exist and we can let our souls free. This could be at grandma’s house, or even with a certain person.

For me, one of the places that I truly feel relaxed is out in the woods. My fiancé and I love to go camping- it’s kind of what we do for mini vacations throughout the summer. Last summer we went probably ten or more times all over Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. We’ve actually talked about and agreed that camping is what we would like to do on our honeymoon!

I just love being in the trees, breathing in the fresh air. I love cooking over an open flame. I love playing cards at night with the campfire as our only source of light. It’s just an all-around homey feel for me. The rain needs to go away so we can get out and camp soon!!

Della & me at our home

Another thing that makes me feel at home is holding my sweet girl. There is just something about holding your child that makes your walls collapse and nothing else matters. She has stolen my heart! It seems that every time I leave her, something within me is just missing up until the second I see her again. I often wonder if that will ever go away. I doubt it.

Where do you feel at home? Is there anyone in your life that makes you feel at home?

June Blogging Challenge: Day 3

Hello June!!

It’s finally starting to be warm consistently, but unfortunately the rain is causing big problems where I’m from. I live in Illinois in between the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, and they are currently flooded so bad, quite possibly the worst they ever have! Please be thinking of my community and the farmers  as last I checked, only 35% of all crops have been planted this year due to the water standing in fields.

On a more positive note… I thought it would be fun to do a JUNE BLOGGING CHALLENGE! (You can see the challenge at the bottom of this post) I want to post a blog every day for the rest of this month, according to prompts given. I encourage you all to join as well! This is going to be fun!

Okay, so today is June 3rd, and the prompt for today is to describe what you wore in detail.

Today I am wearing some patterned leggings with a black t-shirt. The leggings have pink, orange, navy blue, green, and maroon on them, and I actually got them pretty cheap at Walmart when I was pregnant because the material was stretchy enough to fit over my big belly. To be honest, Walmart has really stepped up their clothing game. I feel no shame buying Walmart clothes, haha! The shoes I’m wearing are a cute pair of sandals (kind of like Birkenstocks) that I found at Goodwill! I’m such a bargain shopper, so don’t ever expect me to flaunt expensive name brand clothes. I’m also wearing a necklace that my fiancé’s mom got me for Mother’s Day. It has her name, birthday, birthweight and height on it. I love it soooo much!

Where do you shop for summer clothes? I’m not big on shopping online, but I think I want to try it out some more. Feel free to leave a comment with good clothing sites.
