Autumn Welcome

I love the fall. It’s the time of year that has the best weather and most fun activities. I’m a total autumn junkie – count me in for all of the fall activities. Pumpkin patches, bonfires, football games, hayrack rides, all of it.

So today the weather here in central Illinois is a bit cooler than it has been. Last week the heat index all week long was over 100 degrees. It’s currently 66. So I’m LOVING IT.

I know that there are some people out there that DO NOT want to welcome autumn the first week of September, but I wouldn’t mind if we welcomed it the first week of August! I’ve been trying to keep my excitement and desire for the new season at bay, because my fiancé likes to relish summer for as long as possible, but I’ve had my fall decor up for over a week now and I’ve already been to the store for some new candles. This morning I put my pumpkin scented wax melts in the burner and that combined with the cool air has me feeling SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! I’ve also been cleaning the house today, so the level of comfort I’m in has me feeling so relaxed and energized at the same time, if that makes any sense. There’s just something about a clean house that cures my anxiousness and calms my nerves.

What kind of season lover are you? Do you hold onto summer for as long as possible, or do you jump into fall at the first opportunity?

EOD Thoughts: 07.31.2021

This has been the longest and most boring July of my life. Of course our luck would result in us moving during the hottest week of the entire summer.

I’m so tired I swear I could sleep for a week straight.

I’ve lost the drive to even be on my phone. As in- I will not respond to mostly everything for days. Situations vary, but I’ve just been feeling so antisocial. I feel like I get like this in spurts, and often times randomly. Maintaining good mental health is hard and sometimes life is so overwhelming I feel like I just need to stick in my own little bubble sometimes.

So I’ve been deep in my head and in thought.

My body hurts. Everywhere. Specifically my back and hips, and my FEET. Swollen ankles galore. And I swear I’ve been a sweaty working mess for a week straight.

But we’re finally moved. We still have tons to do, but none of it requires me to be in 90° heat – YAY!

We’ve put some pieces of the home together, and I’m already in love with what we have done.

Someday I’ll enjoy this home while I’m not so exhausted physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Still feels like home, though 💓

La Casa

I am a homebody. I enjoy nights out on the town, but I truly love a date that starts with cooking a homemade meal together followed by cuddling on the couch.

I put my Christmas lights up Sunday. 2020 is kicking everyone’s ass, so I decided some early holiday cheer could possibly be a cure to the blues that I’ve been feeling lately. I recently had a medical procedure done that has changed my hormones (I’m not a doctor, I just believe this to be true), on top of going back to work full-time and cold weather settling in, I’ve really been in my head lately. I work from home 3 days a week, so changing up the scenery was good for me I think.

I like being home and I especially like being surrounded by lights. When I say I have my Christmas decor up, I mean ALL of my decor. Including the tree. I usually try to wait until after Thanksgiving to put it all up, but this year couldn’t wait.
